how to reduce the risk of fraud

1. Potential employees who have access to IT and security systems should be carefully scrutinised.

2. Implement a company policy permitting monitoring of emails and phone calls. Intelligent monitoring may provide advance warning of fraud.

3. The right to install software should be limited to staff who genuinely need it. Limit the use of floppy, CD and DVD drives and remove or disable USB ports.

Install CCTV cameras in sensitive areas e.g in the server room. This will act as a deterrent.
