Description: A new report, published today by the Chartered Management Institute, shows that for the first time since 1996, job experience is rated as more important than natural ability when it comes to performing well at work.

The report, published by the Chartered Management Institute, explores the impact of management development on organisational performance, over an
eight-year period, and reveals that where employers are taking high levels of responsibility for management development, organisational performance
is significantly improved.

It also shows that:
- the degree to which development activities are linked to business strategy makes a difference to productivity
- the extent to which individual development is tailored to build relevant skills and behaviours impacts on motivation.
