Resource 32000 Case Study-Reaseheath College
is a land-based college and offers a wide range of courses in agriculture and allied subjects, to over 800 full-time, and 2,500 part-time students making it one of the largest colleges of its type.
The head of finance Geoff Feast discovered the Financial System, when he and his staff were having difficulties with their current software in 1999. “It just kept letting us down said Geoff, and eventually it became essential for us to find something else to replace it, so we wrote down a requirements checklist and then started looking.”
“Although we were not able to cover our entire checklist, we knew no other system could do so either. What Resource did offer, however, was the flexibility that would enable it to eventually meet all our needs.”
They were one of the first users and came to set up the Resource Public Sector User Group. It was at one of these meetings that they heard about the HR and Payroll modules. They had been using an outside bureau but were spending a lot of time checking details and because they had around 25 staff this took up a lot of time. This together with the rigid timescales of gathering and producing the payroll information and not having the flexibility to make changes after cut-off, was making life very difficult.
They eventually went live with the HR and payroll modules in April 2003. Other benefits form the shift to the Resource 32000 HR and payroll have been-
- the ability to print P45’s
- the automatic posting of payroll journals
- standard maintenance time is reduced as employee data is shared across the unified system
Geoff says he has had never regretted the decision to go with Resource 32000 by Mondas.
